5:00 - 10:00 Santa's Toy Box - Dinner & Fundraiser
The annual Santa's Toy Box Spaghetti Dinner will be held this year at the Vallarta Yacht Club on Sunday, December 13th at 5:00 PM. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a fine spaghetti dinner, choosing one of the three types of spaghetti sauces being served.
To donate to Santa's Toy Box, bring unwrapped childrer's gifts and/or donations to the Yacht Club until December 22nd.
These gifts and donations are for children who are missed by other charities. Santa's Toy Box has been distributing gifts on Christmas Eve to these children who now number over one thousand.
History: About 16 or more years ago Ron & Arlene Tackett started collecting and distributing toys to the kids that fall through the cracks and somehow miss the mainstream charities. Originally they and their friends brought used and new toys from the US all year to amass enough for these deserving kids, they have evolved from 200 kids to over 1000 to receive gifts on Christmas eve, they work with the little Catholic Church on the arroyo in Bucerias which organizes the distribution. Diane and Doug Campbell have been involved since 2001 and in 2003 the Vallarta Yacht Club started as a collection point for gifts, we call it Santa's Toy Box. The Club asks people to bring in unwrapped gifts and donations for this event. In 2004 the Club started a "spaghetti dinner" fund raiser to augment monies necessary for the ever increasing numbers of kids. All of the net monies from the dinner will go directly to this worth while cause. For more information contact Vallarta Yacht Club or Ron Tackett at (329) 298-1729.

We are pleased to announce the return of Tom Coster and his orchestra in a series of concerts for the 2009/2010 Season!
On December 14, 2009; January 25; February 22; March 29*and April 19* 2010 Dinner will be served at 6PM and the Concert begins at 7 PM (* tentative dates). he big news is that Tom Coster has recorded a new CD here in Vallarta, "Suave", featuring - Tom Coster: Keys/Vocal, Marcos Milagres: Electric Bass and Lazaro Poey: Drums & Percussion.
Tom:
"This project was inspired by the people of Nuevo Vallarta. I truly enjoyed performing at the Yacht Club last year and had many people request a CD of the band.
I came down this summer between tours and recorded the project in Vallarta at a friends studio.
The project involves the same musicians I performed with at the club. Marcos Milagres on bass and Lazaro Poey on drums & percussion.
My goal was to capture the feeling of a "live performance" with the same energy and passion we play with at the club. I am also singing on a tune I composed for the Yacht Club called "The Yacht Club Blues." It's my first time singing on a recording.
All the tunes are originals along with a unique arrangement of Europe a composition written by Carlos Santana and myself.
The music is "fusion" which is a combination of Jazz, Rock, Latin and Funk. This is the music I love to play because it is a musical adventure every time we play. We can be creative without any musical boundaries.
We are looking forward to having these CDs at the club on December 14th, which is our first Yacht Club performance."
