  • Banderas Bay Regatta

Celebrating its Silver Anniversary, this year's Banderas Bay Regatta promises to be one to remember. 25 years ago a group of cruisers decided to create a fun competition for people who lived aboard their sailboats for long periods of time, but who still had the itch to compete in an organized racing format. The week-long event features a boat parade, three days of racing on the Bay, nightly parties with great food and live music, and ending with an awards ceremony, buffet dinner, and live music by Gypsy Rumba on the beach. Racing classes based on performance ratings keep the competition meaningful and fair.

Regatta organizers make every effort to balance competition and fun. Landlubbers who yearn to get back on the water will have an opportunity to crew on boats entered in the competition. Many skippers and crewmembers participate in the BBR again and again. Skippers who register to participate this year will receive a commemorative BBR XXV flag.

Special rates for slips in the Paradise Village Marina are available during the event.
