‍Ann Bloomquist's love/hate relationship with Social Media 

To be honest, I feel like I’ve been dragged into Social Media kicking and screaming. It’s like when I visited my mom and I had to program her VCR every time I visited. Now, my 22 year old son teaches me how to watch his life on Snapchat and TicTok. But I’m not going there yet. Facebook and Instagram….okay, I’ll bite.

VYC has been active on Facebook and Instagram for several years now, and a big shoutout to everyone who’s been putting in the effort to post and engage—it's no easy feat! As we aim to elevate our online presence, the VYC marketing team recognized the need for some extra help. That’s why we brought on a social media manager in mid-September to boost our strategy, posting frequency, and analytics. We’re now sharing updates up to five times a week about club events and membership benefits. Plus, we’re posting real-time stories during events, so you can feel like you’re right there with us. We’ve also launched Picante Grill accounts, a project our marketing team took on independently, outside of our hired social media manager. Have you noticed the difference?

The early results of our reenergized SM efforts are encouraging. In just one month, we’ve increased followers to 2,275 on Facebook, with views skyrocketing tenfold. Our reach (# of unique people who looked at a post) continues to climb, highlighted by one post exceeding 2,000 hits and engagement (likes and comments) increasing by an impressive 900%. Meanwhile, our Instagram views have risen by 56%.

This keeps you updated on all things VYC, helps spread the word about our amazing club to potential new members, and attracts more visitors to Picante Grill, supporting our restaurant and bar.
