WHY JOIN?

The Vallarta Yacht Club was founded on three principles:
linda2 400 To provide an attractive, comfortable, and active private social environment for residents of and visitors to Banderas Bay who have interest in yachting, other aquatic activities, sport fishing, sport diving, and related social activities.

To promote, sponsor, manage, and provide facilities for amateur and professional regional, national, and international aquatic events such as yacht regattas and rallies, sport fishing tournaments, sport diving events, and marine training and educational programs and seminars.

Here are just a few of the benefits of membersihp in Vallarta Yacht Club:

  • Nautical Activities - We host world class regattas, including our signature events, the annual Bandaras Bay Regatta and WesMex Small Boat Regatta. We also sponsor club races, cruises, educational seminars, and the Cruisers’ Round Table Forums.
  • Junior Sailing Program - We offer an active, year-round, professionally coached program for kids ages 7 to 23 years.

  • Air-conditioned Clubhouse and Member Amenities - Enjoy our beautiful setting overlooking Paradise Village Marina. Our clean, comfortable club facilities feature friendly staff, internet WIFI; satellite TV; pool, hot tub, showers, and locker room.
  • Onsite Restaurant with Daily Happy Hour - Our excellent and inexpensive Picante Restaurant offers snacks as well as a chef’s menu. Beer, house wine, and well drinks are offered at 2-for-1 prices during our popular Happy Hour.
  • Community Activities and Benefits - We sponsor local activities such as the annual Taste of Nuevo Vallarta & Chili Cook-off, Christmas Children’s Toy Drive, and community food drives.
  • Logo Sportswear - We sell traditional club wear along with specialty items for our nautical events.
  • Ham Radio Group - We have an active, in-the-club, station hosting a daily cruisers net that also offers seminars and monthly amateur operator radio exams.
  • Reciprocal Privileges - Enjoy temporary member privileges at yacht clubs all over the world.
  • CONADE registered Sports Association - Our fees, dues and sailing lessons are exempt from IVA taxation.

HOW DO I JOIN?

It’s easy to join Vallarta Yacht Club. Simply fill out our online membership application. If you are in the area, stop by the Club to say ‘hello,’ and we can help you complete the membership form electronically.

WHAT ARE MY MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS?

There are several classes of membership to fit nearly every situation and budget.

Membership includes your spouse or significant other, and  unmarried children under 21 living with you , immediate family members who are visiting for two weeks and be granted access to the club with out the primary member being present.

Flag Membership

Flag Membership is our standard level, and is available for those who are in Banderas Bay full time (12 month membership), or part time (6 month membership). Flag members have full rights to use the club facilities, enjoy member pricing at our onsite bar and restaurant, and invite up to 6 guests to join them at the club (more by arrangement). Additionally, Flag members have full voting rights, and are entitled to take advantage of reciprocal agreements with clubs worldwide. 

The cost of Flag Membership is based on the number of months you are in the Banderas Bay area, and the age of the primary member (Costs in Mexican Pesos)

Gold Flag Membership

Gold Flag Membership is our highest level of membership. In addition to all the rights of Flag membership, Gold Flag Members are entitled to an additional 15% discount on member pricing in the VYC Picante Restaurant. Gold Flag membership is available to any Flag member after a one-time $1500 USD donation to the club, either directly or via the Vallarta Sailing Foundation 501(c)(3). Gold Flag members have rights to fly a special burgee signifying their Gold Flag status.

VYC Bring A Friend Benefit For Flag Members

Do you know a existing member of VYC? VYC Flag members, who sponsor a new Flag member, are entitled to a refund of 50% of their annual dues (limited to once per year). The new flag member must pay the part time or full-time membership in full when joining.

Special Offer to Parents of Students in the VYC Junior Sailing Program

Parents of students in the VYC Junior Sailing Program may become Flag Members of Vallarta Yacht Club with no initiaion fee after their children have participated in the Junior Sailing Program for 6 months or more. Some restrictions apply.

Youth Membership

In order to encourage youth to become part of Vallarta Yacht Club, a special, very low cost membership option is available for ages 6 - 22. Youth members may use club facilities, take advantage of member pricing in Picante Restaurant, and have access to club boats after the appropriate training and certification. A person can become a youth member for a one-time initiation fee of only $600 pesos, and annual dues of $600 pesos. If a youth has been a member for more than 6 months, they may become a Flag Member after they turn 23 with no initiation fee.

Associate and Reciprocal Associate Membership

Banderas Bay is a very popular cruising destination, and many cruisers choose Banderas Bay as a place to stop for a season before cruising to other destinations. Additionally, many choose Banderas Bay as a winter destination and may stay in local accommodation for several months. Associate Members have full rights to the club facilities, are entitled to member discounts, and may fly the standard VYC burgee. Additionally, Associate Members will be given a membership card that will allow them to take advantage of reciprocal agreements with clubs worldwide.

Reciprocal Associate Membership

Members of approved reciprocal clubs may extend their normal 2 weeks of free reciprocal membership at VYC by paying $2,200 pesos per month to extend their membership up to two months as Reciprocal Associate members. After two months, an annual fee of $6,000 pesos is required in addition to the monthly dues. 

Associate Membership

Associate Members are required to pay an annual fee of $6,000 MXN and a monthly fee of $2,200 MXN to continue Associate Membership. 

Associate Members need only pay for the months they are in the Banderas Bay area, and insure their annual fee is paid, to maintain their status. 

Corporate and Mega-Yacht Membership
