VYC Family,
It is with great regret that I must announce the passing of our Commodore, Randy Hough. As many of you know, his health had been failing. He passed away peacefully at his home yesterday, January 14.
Randy’s heart and soul was our Club. He served the club for many years in various capacities, and served as Commodore the last four years of his life. In addition to steering us through some of the most trying times our VYC family has ever experienced, he made significant personal investments toward our success.
Prior to coming to Mexico, he led an extremely interesting life that involved cars, motorcycles, boats, and yacht clubs. In typical Randy style, he worked hard to develop a high level of expertise in all of them. Whatever he did, he took it on with a level of intensity that was often astonishing, and often difficult to keep up with.
We will remember him for his generosity, engaging conversations, firm handshakes, and expressions of thanks. All of us at VYC will miss him. We are pleased to report that his faithful canine companion, Maya, has been placed in a new home, which we know was most important to Randy.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his daughter and his family.
