Commodore John's s/v Break'nWind becomes the first to join the Club's Boat Photo Program
Several years ago, the club gave the opportunity for members to buy a stool for our Cheers bar at $200 each. Members quickly signed up and the club bar was surrounded by nice stools fitted with brass plaques, engraved with the member's name.
The House Committee has created another opportunity for immortality for both you and your boat: the Member Boat Photo Program. Around the perimeter of both the inside and outside patio of the club there is a small wall space just below the roof line, perfect for photos. Members will now be able to enjoy a photo of their boat, professionally framed, complete with their name and their boat's name, engraved on a brass plaque and mounted in the club.
The cost of becoming a permanent part of the Vallarta Yacht Club is 2,700 Pesos or $200 USD. Photo's must be submitted in digital format (email or CD) and have a resolution of at least 2 megapixels. (The higher the resolution the better) The price includes printing the photo, framing and the engraved brass plaque. If you not have a good picture, club member and professional boat photographer, Jay Ailworth, has offered his expertise and camera to take a photo of your boat, gratis. You need only to cover any cost of taking picture (fuel & use for the club panga or other chase boat).
As wall space is limited, the photo opportunity is being offered to current and past Flag Officers & directors first, then Plank Members, followed by Flag members. Only full memberships will be allowed to participate in the program.
